Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a highly effective martial art for men, women, and children from all walks of life. It relies on leverage, timing, and proper technique to overcome larger and stronger opponents. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will give you confidence, knowledge, body-dexterity and fitness. We teach in a safe, friendly and controlled environment which fosters fun, camaraderie and respect.

Our academy is designed to provide adults with a solid foundation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu technique that works equally well for both self-defense and sport, while at the same time serving as a great way to get in shape while having fun. We put our techniques into practice through situational sparring and free sparring. Our academy provides a safe and friendly atmosphere to take your training and fitness goals to the next level.

Mixed Martial Arts

Mixed Martial Arts is a sport that combines multiple techniques from a variety of martial arts.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wrestling have proven to be the most effective martial arts used in MMA. At Elite, our students learn to combine BJJ, Muay Thai, and Wrestling techniques to gain success in their amatuer and professional MMA bouts.

Head Professor John George, trained under, and has been cornered by UFC/Pride legend Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva. Professor John was on the coaching staff and Pro Fight Team at Wanderlei's gym (WAND Fight Team) when the gym was named "Best Gym in the World" by Fighters Only Magazine in 2010. Professor John brings that same knowledge and experience to the mats at Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Wilmington.

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Muay Thai is a martial art from Thailand that uses stand up striking along with various clinching techniques. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows, and knee strikes, thus using eight points of contact, as opposed to two points (fists) in Western boxing and four points (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts.

Our students learn the same style of Muay Thai that was taught to Professor John George by Master Rafael Cordeiro (Kings MMA and Chute Boxe) and UFC/Pride legend, Wanderlei Silva (Wand Fight Team and Chute Boxe)..

In this class, you will have an amazing workout while developing speed, strength, confidence and self-defense skills. All classes are taught in our modern training facility in a clean and safe family environment.

Strength & Conditioning

We have an extensive strength and conditioning program at Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Wilmington. Our belief is that Sports Strength and Conditioning is the backbone of athletic performance and overall quality of life. Our number one priority is making sure our students are educated, healthy, strong and competitive. We provide a safe and challenging environment that guides our students towards developing their full physical and mental potentials. Exercise technique and injury prevention is of paramount importance. Education, strength training, sports specific conditioning, speed and agility, movement, development, flexibility, and good nutrition practices are the pillars of our program. Specific attention to individual strengths and weaknesses are always addressed.
